The superbug pandemic is coming

Superbug pandemic Dr Kaiser Anam

Carbapenem, colistin resistant E. coli (superbug) is being found in the sewage of the capital Dhaka. The medical journal website PubMed has published this information.

Although everyone else does not notice it that way, we doctors have been watching the presence of CRE positive patients with great concern for the past few years.

Research surveys are not done much in Bangladesh. I think if we do proper research, we will see that CRE is scurrying around in almost all the ICUs and HDUs of the country. Because of the misuse of antibiotics.

A CRE case was found in America a few years ago. In the body of a patient who had come from India. There was a national uproar about it - everything will be destroyed! The superbug has arrived! There is no escape from the epidemic! Etc.

And as for the superbug that has also entered our drain water here. Maybe it originated from the waste of hospitals.

The reason for the fear of superbugs is - it is very difficult to treat an infection with them. Maybe you have an infection in your lungs or urine. No conventional antibiotics will work.

You will die the same way you would die without treatment if you had a bacterial infection in the Middle Ages. I was wondering if the days when villages were once devastated by an epidemic are coming back.

During such a crisis, there is no opportunity to think about the whole world. You have to think about yourself first. I am afraid, what will I do if I or someone in my family gets a superbug infection?

A close friend of mine lost a close relative to this superbug infection a few days ago. Their doctor, who is a member of the tribe, could not do anything.

None of us can do anything. Elderly parents, children in their arms will pass away before our eyes.

The rice hotels on the roadside are all on drains. There is smoke and fumes. Working people eat there. It makes you afraid, is a superbug epidemic very close?
